Perhaps I can be forgiven for pointing out a relevant dissertation: F. 
Knobloch, "Hebrew Sounds in Greek Script: Transcriptions and Related
Phenomena in the Septuagint"  (U. of Penn., 1995).  It will be published
in the Septuagint and Cognate Studies Series.
