The text of 5Q13 fragments 1, 2 is analyzed and commented upon in this lecture. It is suggested to combine fragments 1 and 2, containing a liturgical and historical survey of the election of the fathers. The theological features of this work are discussed, and its structure is compared to an ancient avoda poem of late antiquity.
