If we compare Whiston (1737) with Thackerey (1926-28), then the latter
indeed has the more differentiated translation - a logical consequence of
the decisive mental development from Immanuel Kant to Max Weber, from Isaac
Newton to Albert Einstein.
Unfortunately Thackerey is less more than the English version of Clementz
(1901), who, like Niese (1892-95), was formed by the great Dindorf (1865).
In fact it is high time for a modernized translation instead of additional
annotations.
