Re: outsider appelations vs in-group self-definition. (Also outsider
appelations which become in-group self-designations)

I have much appreciated the informative discussions. 

I now believe I know what theory has been driving this discussion
(though I'm not yet convinced by S. Goranson's etymological arguments).
However, at this point, I'm not quite sure what fruit will come from
pursuing it further in this forum. Perhaps the best venue for the
remainder of this discussion (as complex as it is) should be in
professional journals where arguments can be laid out and supported more
systematically. 

Until then, I will stand by previous statements I have made on this
issue. (We can^Òt expect to agree on every issue)

For now I would be happy to move on to other topics.
