orion Posidonius on Jews

Louis H Feldman's _Jew and Gentile in the Ancient World_ (Princeton, 1993)
was checked out from the library when Posidonius was discussed previously
on orion. For anyone interested in considering the relevance to Philo and
Josephus of the writings on Jews by Posidonius, this book, pages 126-7 and
498-9 are well worth reading. It's too long to quote here. But, apparently,
Feldman had a draft of B Bar-Kochva's not yet published book on Posidonius.
"....Apion has falsely named Posidonius....Posidonius's version was
actually very favorable to Judaism....Posidonius chose Mosaic Judaism to
illustrate his Stoic ideas..." Etc.
