Jack-- donīt be silly about the silver talisman. Not even its publishers,
Gabi Barkay and, later, Ada Yardeni, claimed that the words in question are
a quotation from Numbers. Rather, both recognised that the phrase is a
blessing formula, and were well aware that blessing and curse formulae are
millennially ancient products in the ANE. So: the words are quoted on the
talisman, and in the OT, but neither quotation proves the existence of
anything but a blessing formula.
