Dear Jim,

This is quite an intriguing little question. What made you ask it?

I've been reading it lately as a Pharisaic document, dating from before
Jude was written and depending on your interpretation of the structure
of the text it's either all later than Herod or a chapter has been
inserted. It's anti the Hasmonean establishment as well as anti-Herod.
But anti-Essene?
