Dear Peter,

I'm very happy that you have a copy of the AAR/SBL members handbook (look
after it), and I look forward to something substantive from you on this
list. In the meantime, isn't it good to know that there are many people on
the list who are glad to help if you have any problems -- no matter how basic?

Incidentally,

1) when you have gleaned the content on a thread you aren't intersted in,
you don't have to read the rest.

2) have you read all 175 posts yet?

3) what's your view of using the incredible abbreviation CD for a document
that usually goes under such titles as the "Zadokite Fragments" or the
"Damascus Document"? Is it not merely erudite insider stupidity?

4) what's your position on whether the dss were or were not written by a
sectarian group?

5) what are your ideas on the dating of the texts?

Yours,

Ian Hutchesson
