Dead Sea Scrolls trasns: in every book store Vermes "DSS in Eng." , Knipp
"Qumran Community" 

Eisenman "the DSS uncovered" but the most entertaining foe the lay person
would be Theiring's "Jesus and the Riddle of the DSS" then read 
Murphey-O'connor's "The Essenes in Palestine" in the BA v.40 #3 Sept. 1977.
